Friend or Foe

This is my watch. I wear it always. I kind of have a thing for watches. I own a lot of them. This watch is my constant companion each day when I leave my home. Sometimes I can't determine if it's my friend or my foe. Often times I find myself racing the clock. Always running from one thing to the next trying to beat those small hands that are counting down the seconds in each day, but once in a while I find myself glancing at that friend on my arm only to find out that my day is going well. This can mean a couple of different things. It can mean that I have accomplished a lot of things on my list in better time than I had anticipated, or it can mean that I have an extra few minutes before the next deadline on the list of things to do. The other day I was able to spend an extra few minutes with my hooligans. In fact, it was the same day that I took this picture. For a few short minutes time was frozen and we laughed and talked and shared our time. I guess when it comes right down to it, my watch is my keeper. It helps to keep me on track to accomplish the things that I need to so I can spend more time doing the things I want to do. I guess in the end my watch really is my friend, and time is the best prize as well as the best gift we have to offer. Maybe it's why I have such a thing for collecting watches. :)

Here's one last thought for you. It's actually a quote from a new favorite magazine I have recently subscribed to. Think about these words:
"Our lives are the sum of each moment and interaction. Each day we work, eat, laugh, teach, play, read, remember... and work at it all again the next day. Within seemingly small moments we find opportunity to build relationships, develop character, and find joy for the price of our time."
I love this quote. Our time is precious, and it makes me realize that every moment counts. Even our routines that seem so mundane. This will make me look at my watch differently from now on.

What a great picture. And I like it in black in white. Very pretty.
That's a great quote too! What magazine?...I'm thinking Real Simple?...
Happy weekend to you! :)

The image is wonderful! The post is too, today I attended a funeral and your words 'time is precious' take on a whole degree more of truth today!!
